Howard has made fantastic, totally weather proof, pottery house signs and presentation plaques for over 20 years. He uses high quality earthstone clay (stoneware) from Ireland and manufactures the plaques from the basic raw material onwards. There is no industrial or automated processing - the plaques are made totally by hand in the studio.
The finished signs are high-fired to 1260ºC giving them their strength and frost integrity. Howard’s sent commissioned signs to such diverse places (and climates!) as Alaska, northern Canada, the West Indies and Australia amongst many others.
The standard signs come in four basic shapes - oval, round, rectangular and square. These are available in large or small formats. (see below)
The prices start at sterling £45.00 for large plaques and sterling £30.00 for the smaller sizes. Final price depends on your requirements.
The design of these signs is in consultation with you, the customer. Once you have decided to take the step of ordering one Howard needs to discuss your requirements with you. He will then send you a sample layout by email for approval.
